Privacy policy
Last updated: November 5, 2026
This privacy policy explains what information ToolsEssential (“we”, “us”) collects when you use this website, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Files and text you use in our tools
Our tools process files and text locally in your browser. Images, PDFs and text you enter are not uploaded to or stored on our servers. When you close or refresh the page, that data is gone from the page.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting server keeps standard access logs (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and the date and time of the request) for security and to keep the site running. These logs are kept for a limited time and are not used to identify you personally.
Cookies and advertising
We use Google AdSense to show advertising, which pays for the site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- To learn more, read how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent message, provided through Google’s certified consent management platform, before personalised ads or advertising cookies are used.
Analytics
We count visits with our own privacy-friendly statistics script. It stores a random visitor ID in your browser’s local storage so we can tell new visits from returning ones, and records the page viewed, the referring site, your approximate country (worked out from your browser’s time zone, or from our CDN), and your device and browser type. We do not store your IP address, and these statistics are never sold or shared. You can clear the ID at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
We may also use Google Analytics to understand which tools are popular and how the site can be improved. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as pages visited and time on site, in aggregated form. You can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Contact form
If you send us a message through the contact form, we keep your name, email address and message so we can reply. We delete messages when they are no longer needed and never add you to a mailing list.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to certain processing. Because we do not ask you for personal information to use our tools, we usually hold very little data about you. To make a request, email [email protected].
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
