How to check keyword density

  1. Paste the text of your article, product description or web page.
  2. Optionally enter your target keyword to see exactly how many times it appears and its density.
  3. Switch between single words, two-word and three-word phrases to see which topics your text really focuses on.

How keyword density is calculated

Keyword density = (Number of times the keyword appears ÷ Total words) × 100

For a multi-word phrase, this tool counts each occurrence of the phrase and divides by the total number of words, which is the most common method used by SEO tools. A 1,000-word article that mentions “leather wallet” 8 times has a density of 0.8%.

Is there an ideal keyword density?

No. Google has repeatedly said there is no ideal keyword density, and modern search engines understand synonyms, related terms and context. What matters is that the page clearly and thoroughly covers its topic. As a practical guide:

  • Your main keyword should appear naturally in the title, the first paragraph, at least one subheading and the body.
  • If a single word or phrase exceeds roughly 2–3% of a long text, read it aloud — it may sound repetitive. Over-repetition (“keyword stuffing”) is against Google’s spam policies and can hurt rankings.
  • If your target keyword doesn’t appear in the top phrases at all, your text may not be focused on the topic you think it is.

Use the phrase view to find topic gaps

Two- and three-word phrases reveal what your content is actually about. Compare them with the phrases used by pages that rank well for your keyword. If competitors consistently cover sub-topics (for example “genuine leather”, “card slots”, “RFID blocking”) that are missing from your list, adding helpful sections on them can make your page more complete.

Stop words

Words such as “the”, “and”, “to” and “is” are the most common in any English text but say nothing about the topic. They are ignored by default so the table shows meaningful keywords. Turn the option off to see every word.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good keyword density?

There is no ideal number. Use your keyword naturally in the title, introduction and headings, and avoid repeating it so often that the text sounds unnatural.

Does keyword density affect Google rankings?

Not directly. Google focuses on relevance and quality. However, excessive repetition can be treated as keyword stuffing.

Does the checker work with Bangla text?

Yes. Words are split using Unicode letters, so Bangla and other languages are counted. Stop-word removal applies to English only.

Is my text uploaded?

No. The analysis runs in your browser.
