Real estate and home sizes
Home sizes in the US, Canada and the UK are often quoted in square feet, while most of the world uses square meters. A 1,000 sq ft apartment is about 93 m²; a 2,000 sq ft house is about 186 m². To estimate quickly, divide square feet by 10.76 (or roughly by 11).

Land: acres and hectares
- An acre is 43,560 sq ft (4,047 m²) — roughly 75% of an American football field.

Flooring and paint
