How to use the Walmart fee calculator
- Enter the selling price, any shipping charged to the customer and your product cost.
- Choose the category — this sets the referral fee. Walmart uses “contract categories” from the Marketplace Retailer Agreement, which do not always match the category you choose during item setup.
- If you use Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS), enter the fulfillment fee and storage per unit; otherwise enter your own shipping cost.
- See the referral fee, total costs, profit, margin, ROI and break-even price.
How Walmart Marketplace fees work
- No monthly subscription, setup or listing fees. Approved sellers pay only when they sell.
- Referral fee: a percentage of the total sales price (item price plus shipping charged), set by category. Most categories are 15%; several are lower, such as personal computers at 6% and consumer electronics at 8%.
- Tiered categories: some categories, such as apparel and accessories, use lower percentages for cheaper items — for example 5% up to $15 and 10% from $15 to $20 — and the standard rate above that.
- WFS: optional fulfillment, with per-unit fulfillment fees based on weight and monthly storage fees.
Walmart adjusted referral fees in a number of categories during 2026 and runs programmes for new sellers with discounted fees. Always confirm your category’s current rate in Seller Center, and enter it in the referral fee box.
